In the Name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

“BISMILLAHIR-RAHMANIR-RAHIM”

The term “Allah” derives from the Arabic word “Elah” meaning “deity, a god, the one worthy of worship”.

In Islam Allah (God) is One and Unique, only He should be Worshiped, He is the absolute ruler of everything, from an atom to the entire universe.

When mentioning/writing the word Allah (the One and Only God), the abbreviation SWT (Subhana wa ta’ala) should be added, it means “Glory to Him, the Exalted.”

Allah (SWT) names - God has 99 names and some of them are:

  • The First (Al-Awwal)
  • The Last (Al-Akhir)
  • The Absolute Ruler (Al-Malik)
  • The Guide (Al-Hadi)
  • All Knowing (Al-Alim)
  • The Creator (Al-Khaliq)
  • The All Powerful (Al-Qadir)
  • The Greatest (Al-Kabir)
  • The Eternal (As-Samad)
  • The Ever Living (Al-Hayy)

“There is no one to share His dominion, nor does He take an aid or support from His creatures. He is nearer to man than men own jugular vein.” (Qur’an 50:16)

Alhamdulillah (Praise to God).
